Cloth napkins featured as an SDGs item
What are SDGs?
SDGs are Sustainable Development Goals, which were discussed by countries around the world and adopted by the United Nations General Assembly in September 2015 as 17 goals that the world should work on by 2030. These goals are actually not new; they include the goals and indicators of the MDGs (Millennium Development Goals), which were set from 2000 to 2015. (From the Ministry of Foreign Affairs website)
Why are cloth napkins SDGs?
Japan is rich in water and has electricity that can be used casually.
We live in a blessed country where water and electricity only go out during disasters. If we look at the goals set forth in the SDGs from a bird's-eye view, we can see how blessed we are to live in Japan. Masu.
Cloth napkins may have been taken up as one of the SDGs initiatives that can only be achieved in Japan, a country where ``washing can be done in a washing machine'' and with good sewage systems. This is an opportunity for people to become aware of cloth napkins as an item that can be used over and over again without being thrown away as waste after use, and as an item that takes care of women's bodies.
Make uncomfortable feelings comfortable｜Message from Rinenna
Cloth napkins made with the idea of valuing your time.
The reason I use cloth napkins is because I want to make the uncomfortable times of menstruation as comfortable as possible. Cloth napkins were created with the idea of giving you some time to relax when you have a stomach ache, feel sleepy, or feel tired. This is a masterpiece that our staff, who tend to get cold even when they're not on their menstrual periods, will feel warm and comfortable when they put it on when they go to bed at night, so we hope you'll pick it up and use it.
